Description:
Selected students will receive valuable hands-on patient evaluation experience while participating in large scale multi-year studies on side effects and efficacy of medications and supplements.
PPREP offers a select group of students from each participating university the opportunity to distinguish themselves by working directly with prescription and over-the-counter drug users to evaluate the efficacy and side effects of their medications.
Upon completion, participants receive:
- A certificate of completion
- A written performance evaluation
- Top participants will have their reports and profiles published on the RateADrug.com website
- The top intern per four-month cycle will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship
- Recommendations are available upon request from RateADrug’s Medical Advisory Panel
Requirements:
- Studying a health-related field or select alternative medical programs subject to PPREP approval
- Student must conduct 100 surveys within the first four months after acceptance
- Laptop computer on which to conduct surveys
- Essays (all must be answered in application)

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are open year-round.
Essay prompts—
- Describe any particular field of medicine or area of practice that you wish to focus on
- Describe any relevant research, internship or work experience
- Describe any extracurricular activities
- Describe any special achievements, publications, awards or honors
- Describe your plans for collecting surveys (e.g. set up a booth at a health fair, visit a local nursing home, etc.)
Selection Process:
Participants are selected based upon their academic background, experience, extracurricular activities, and a short essay explaining why they want to participate in PPREP and how they plan to implement the program.
Admittees are selected year-round on a rolling basis.
